The first stop is at the impressive Historical Railway Station said to be NZ’s most photographed building and proceeds towards a scenic look-out point of the city and impressive harbour. Enjoy the ambience of Edwardian and Victorian architecture including the University of Otago the first and largest in NZ. The First Presbyterian Church with its 54m spire, the Municiple Chambers, designed in 1878 and St Paul’s Cathedral a beautiful church made of Oamaru stone. We will also view the steepest street in the world according to the Guinness Book of Records before travellers can enjoy a free afternoon in the heart of the city’s Octagon with its surrounding attractions and electric mix of cafes, bars, and free wireless internet.

Taieri Railway

From Port Chalmers you will be transported to the Historical Dunedin Railway station for the train adventure of a lifetime through some of New Zealand’s most beautiful scenery which cannot be seen from the road. Once the train chugs out of the station, sit back and relax as your train negotiates through the narrow Taieri Gorge, through tunnels and over viaducts while soaring above the river.
